Management of airports in Indonesia

In Indonesia, most of the airport management was in the area of responsibility of PT. Angkasa Pura. In managing the airport, PT. Angkasa Pura subdivided into PT.Angkasa Pura I and PT. Angkasa Pura II.


The history of PT. Angkasa Pura I
Founded on February 20, 1962 under Government Regulation, PP No. 33 in 1962 with the State Company name (PN) Angkasa Pura Kemayoran which has the main task as a manager and business Kemayoran Jakarta International airport.

On May 17, 1965 under Government Regulation, PP No. 21 year 1965 the Government changed the name of PN Angkasa Pura "Kemayoran" to PN Angkasa Pura with the intent to further open the possibility of managing other airports in the region of Indonesia.

In the context of airport management zoning, according to Government Regulation, PP No. 25 year 1987 dated May 19, 1987 General Company name (PERUM) Angkasa Pura converted into a Public Company (PERUM) Angkasa Pura I, this is in line with the formation of the Public Company (PERUM) Angkasa Pura II that are specifically given the task to manage the airports of Soekarno Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma.

Based on Government Regulation No. 5 / 1992 of Public Enterprise (Perum) Angkasa Pura I changed into company Angkasa Pura I (s) by Deed Muhani Salim, SH, dated January 3, 1993 and has obtained the approval of the Minister of Justice with the decision No. C2-470.HT .01.01 1993 April 24, 1993 and published in State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia No. 52 dated June 29, 1993 with the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2914/1993.

On October 24, 1974 under Government Regulation PP No. 37 of 1974 the Government changed its legal entity status of state enterprise (PN) into a Public Corporation (Perum). On October 1, 1985 Kemayoran International Airport was closed and transferred all its operations to the Soekarno-Hatta airport.

The Articles of Association recently amended by the General Meeting of Shareholders dated 14 January 1998 and has been notarized by Notary No. 30 dated 18 September 1998. The amendment was approved by the Minister of Justice Republic of Indonesia No. C2-25829.HT.01.04 1998 November 19, 1998 and included in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia No. 50 dated June 22, 1999 with the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia No. 3740/1999.

Angkasa Pura I currently manage 13 (thirteen) of airports in Central and Eastern region of Indonesia and manage two (2) Cargo Warehousing namely:
  1. Juanda Airport - Surabaya,
  2. Hasanuddin Airport (ICAO code = WAAA ; IATA code = UPG ) - Ujung Pandang,
  3. Sepinggan Airport (ICAO code = WALL ; IATA code = BPN) - Aberdeen,
  4. Frans Kaisiepo Airport (ICAO code = WABB ; IATA code = BIK) - Biak,
  5. Sam Ratulangi Airport (ICAO code = WAMM; IATA code = MDC) - Manado,
  6. Syamsudin Noor Airport (ICAO code = WAOO ; IATA code = BDJ) - Banjarmasin,
  7. Ahmad Yani Airport (ICAO code = WARS ; IATA code = SRG) - Semarang,
  8. Adisutjipto Airport (ICAO code = WARJ ; IATA code = JOG)- Yogyakarta,
  9. Airport Adisumarmo (ICAO code = WARQ; IATA code = SOC) - Surakarta,
  10. Selaparang Airport (ICAO code = WADA ; IATA code = AMI) - Mataram,
  11. Pattimura Airport (ICAO code = WAPP ; IATA code = AMQ) - Ambon,

Angkasa Pura II is the company managing airport services and air traffic service which has conducted activities aviation services and airport support services in the western region of Indonesia since 1984.

At its inception, August 13, 1984, named Perum Angkasa Pura II Jakarta Airports Cengkareng that administer seek Cengkareng Jakarta Airport (now called Jakarta International Airport Soekarno-Hatta) and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. May 19, 1986 changed to Perum Angkasa Pura II and the subsequent January 2, 1993, officially became Persero appropriate Deed Muhani Salim, SH. 3 years 1993 to PT (Persero) Angkasa Pura II.

Angkasa Pura II currently manages twelve major airports in the western region of Indonesia, namely :

  7. Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport (ICAO code = WIBB ; IATA code = PKU) - Pekanbaru,
  8. Husein Sastranegara Airport (ICAO code = WICC ; IATA code = BDO) - Bandung,
  9. Sultan Iskandarmuda International Airport (ICAO code = WITT ; IATA code = BTJ) - Banda Aceh,

Along with the growth of Indonesia's air transport industry increased rapidly, Angkasa Pura II, always put the best services for users of airport services. Airport managed by Angkasa Pura II always received an award from the Department of Transportation Prima Pratama Indonesia to the category of Airport Passenger Terminal.

As a State Owned Enterprise that are reliable, for three consecutive years Angkasa Pura II has been awarded the Best Enterprises in Logistic Sector of the Ministry of State Enterprises of RI (2004-2006) and The Best First in Good Corporate Governance (2006).

Angkasa Pura II always implement its obligation to provide dividends to the state as a shareholder and helped improve the welfare and concern for employees and their families and the general public and the environment around the airport through Corporate Social Responsibility program.
