Alabama is a state in the United States are located in the south. Area of the state's 50,744 square miles, with its capital named Montgomery. This area is adjacent to Tennessee in the north, in eastern Georgia, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south and west of the Mississippi. Alabama heterogeneous topography consists of high mountains in the north country, and fertile plains are fed by the Mississippi River. Alabama is a state to -22 which joined the Union in 1861 and joined the union in 1868.
