In 2010, Dubai International Airport handles a record 47.2 million in passenger traffic, an increase of 15.4% during fiscal 2009. Terminal 1

Concourse 1

Terminal 2 was built in 1998, and has a capacity of 5 million people in 2009. This terminal is used by smaller airlines operating in the Persian Gulf region. Most flights operate to Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. There are 36 check-in counter and is used by around 26 airlines.

Terminal 3
Terminal 3 was built at a cost of U.S. $ 4.5 billion, exclusively for Emirates and has a maximum capacity of 43 million passengers. This terminal will have a 5 door Airbus A380 in Concourse 2, and will have 18 in Concourse 3. Spacious terminal building 3 more than 1.5 million square meters (370 hectares). Currently, terminal 3 is able to handle 27 million passengers a year but once fully operational will be able to accommodate 43 million passengers per year.

Terminal 3 is equipped with 97 escalators, eight skytrains (4 each on Arrival and Departure), 157 lifts, and 27 lift truck. This building includes a multi-level underground structure, first and business class lounges, restaurants, 180 check-in counters and 2600 car parking lot.

In the departure area there are 126 check-in counters for economy class passengers, and 36 for first and business class passengers. Also, there are 18 self service kiosks, 3 lounges for minors unaccompanied, 38 counters and 12 e-gates for Economy-class passengers and 10 counters and 4 e-gates for First and Business class on immigration.

While in the area of arrival, terminal 3 contains the fruit of 52 immigration counters, 14 baggage turn lane, and 12 e-gates (Passport Electronic Control System) is used at all entrances into the United Arab Emirates. Since its opening in October 2008, the terminal has handled more than 197,920 flight movements (arrival and departure), 50 million passengers and about 70 million pieces of luggage. Currently around 85,000 passengers pass through this terminal every day.
